Valley Press is pleased to welcome a new author, Mr. Robert Ash, into our family. Robert's first book, Action!, is our first publication that isn't a cook book. Set in our own home state of Kansas, with one scene even taking place in our home town of Kinsley, Action! is the story of Ken Morton, a ten year Wichita police officer who gets tired of the seemingly endless activity in Patrol North and trades his life in Kansas' largest city for the relative tranquility of life as a Lieutenant on the Kearny County Sheriff's Department. Robert tells us that many of the events that happen to Ken and his Kearny County coworkers were inspired by the weekly blotter posted by the Morton County Sheriff's Department, as well as from Robert's own experiences as a law enforcement officer. We laughed, cried, and thoroughly enjoyed Action!, and we're happy that Ken found both relative tranquility and true love out there in Lakin.
